Practical awakening

JANU:    Seeing the truth of things is a practicality you seek, for a life committed to taking journeys into awakening to the Larger Life. The practical result is wisdom, insight, awareness, consciousness expansion, the liberation of identity, and a deepening understanding of the self, of others, of society, the Earth and its creatures, the nature of everything. Wiser choices benefit everyone in your circle of influence through service.

Symbolism works best when there is not the need to verbalize their meanings, but when you allow your consciousness to be one with what the symbol represents. Words limit the experience and the understanding. But before the symbol existed, what it represents already was a reality. So the reality comes first, you see, and the symbol of it after. Symbols are only clues. Do not worship them. Be the truth of what they represent and you will know more than the words can say.

Experiences can be shared the same way with those who are awakening. Namaste.

Incentives to embrace the Larger Life

JANU: The bulwark of momentum to embrace the Larger Life consists of fatigue with the old ways of understanding in the presence of failing systems of social structure. Strong incentives are moments of insight, relief, and small gestures of change that uplift.

Even traditional holidays and their symbols and ceremonies are more and more superficial, and the depths of meaning become more and more subtle. So holidays are an opportunity to reexamine these things and explore alternatives. The discernment for such lies once more on the true inner reality of being, rather than the symbols of life and artificial representations of meaning.

Remember the times when joyous celebration was intrinsic to the struggles to survive, the values of family, both personal and community. Humanity can come together once more, but in a much larger way, as they identify with the Larger Life. Namaste.

Symbols and meaning

JANU: The reality of symbolic representation as to the nature of life is little understood, for symbolism–including words, which are symbols of meaning—is an alternative to direct knowing, direct experience. They bring comfort to those who seek meaning and understanding in their lives.

Symbols represent desire to be connected, to be conversant while experiencing the veil that acts as a boundary to the consciousness of incarnate identity. Temporary icons of elusive meaning, subject to interpretation individually and collectively, which is as varied as there are individuals. ‘Deity’ is such, providing comfort and hope to be led into understanding, to fulfill the desire for a better life in every way.

This inner calling, if you will, to reach for something greater is a result of the veil of forgetfulness. The choice awaits the consciousness from the divine True Nature. But these times are changing. The veil is lifting, here and there. The consciousness is maturing and the veil is thinning. Many are reclaiming their power by accepting responsibility for their circumstance. The insights are coming. The understanding is emerging. The joy of discovery and realization of potential illumines the journey.

No longer the sense of aloneness, that prevents remembering and embracing the Family of Life. This takes courage, honesty, faith, and commitment to grow, to awaken, to return to the Larger Life, of which incarnate life is a part. Be patient with each other, encourage where you may, have compassion with yourself and others. Your True Nature is you. Namaste.

Symbols and enlightenment

JANU: We are ambling, if you will, along the path of life, for the journey at times can be laid back, if you will, to take in more detail of the elements of the journey. This evening’s ‘amble’ is in the direction of converting symbols to direct experience. Many are so used to the symbols, they see them as the experience, having to constantly renew the symbol, hoping for meaning and enlightenment.

What say you, then, to the symbol of love, meaning the Christian cross? For many, a symbol of sacrifice for the sake of humanity. But having survived this symbolism, Christ continued to love humanity, his mate, and his progeny. Enlightenment does not mean isolation but the opportunity to be a blessing for another, demonstrating the strength and reliability of True Love.

Whatever symbols of life you hold dear, be at one with what they represent. Be one with the truth of these. Be that much more complete, in your consciousness, in your being, in your service. Namaste.

This was erroneously published too soon. Would make more sense if read in conjunction with Religion & Churches.

Religion and churches

JANU: The focus of ‘Religion and Churches’ is a revealing one. You ask, “What do they represent and what do they accomplish for society?” For they are a construct of society, symbolizing its deep desire for something profound and truthful in their lives.

What we look for here is movement beyond the symbolism into what the symbolism represents. Performing symbolic ritual does not get you there, on its own. Owning within you what it represents brings you the peace of victory within the search. The true teacher within each one is symbolically represented by the preacher or minister, the appointed head of the church, the student of the religion memorizing and attempting to understand the scripture, attempting to resolve issues in the lives of the parishioners. All of this is useful, but crossing the threshold of ownership, bringing understanding to your questions, your issues, from within brings a confidence in life by the inner strength through experience that everything can be understood and mastered. Scripture alludes to this here and there, but it can’t step through the doorway for you.

Get to know your teacher within and you will discover that the teacher is who you truly are, and have always been. Speak your truth from ownership, and your oneness with others is revealed and felt and accepted. Move beyond the symbol, experience and own what it represents. The symbol is a shell for a larger truth. It is the beginning of the journey, not the destination. And the destination, our brother, is vast and always evolving. Namaste.
