Awakening 16: Obstacles to awakening

JANU: Let us survey the obstacles to awakening, most of which are self-imposed, for reason. Others are occasions of living the incarnate life: social pressures, the demands; timing of opportunities and challenges; awareness of possibilities; lack of courage, energy, and commitment. All of these can be overcome, for a more awakened state can be achieved in the midst of a challenge by application and desire. As far as self-imposed reasons go, the timing of the True Nature, based on achievements, is sacrosanct. But these reasons are always in your best interest, serving you and life itself, for the human journey has a purpose, as do you.

The challenges and the obstacles, if you would call them that, are part of the journey. They come with the territory, so to speak. They strengthen your wisdom, your resolve, and your capacities to embrace life. We’re not suggesting to prefer obstacles, but the mastership of them. The fundamental question here is: “What do you desire?” In time, more and more, the human you and your True Nature speak with one voice, clarity ensues, confusion gives way to purpose and meaning.

The larger life has challenges as well, our brother, but of a different order. But the isolation of the human experience, due to the veil, in the sense of isolation or separation, make the connection with the larger life seem obscure if non-existence. But ignorance is the theme here. The purpose of these journeys is to lessen this, give you a working premise to awaken to something more, returning to the state of being that has always been who you are.

The obstacles to awakening have never been permanent or fixed. Not remembering your awakened state does not deny its existence. Your human journey is very temporary. Make the most of it, whether conscious or not, but enhance your opportunities as you may through awakening. Namaste.

Awakening 2: We are stronger together

JANU: This second look at the miracles of awakening begins with insight into motivation. For how can you create change in your life if desire is not there, passion, the wonder? The incentive for this, at least in the beginning, is the current conditions of living in the incarnate life. Incarnate life is not inherently a negative experience. It can be quite miraculous, with one breakthrough after another of uplifting experiences.

Challenges and successes, yes, and even failures of a temporary nature can strengthen resolve, teach great lessons, reveal the nature of your life. “But to what end?” you might ask. It is to own these experiences, our brother, to make them viable elements of your lexicon of being, for, when applied to an awakening consciousness, they prepare one for new and more expansive adventures of wisdom and experience.

Repeating elements of life endlessly is an option, but how does that serve you? But for some, that’s what it takes to see the lesson with clarity and embrace change. The range of living experiences, understandings of involvements and evolvements is as fast as human consciousness chooses. For some, it appears to be a straight, linear path to awakening. For others, it seems to run in circles without end. And everything in between. It is all life, our brother. The choice is yours. The lessons are yours. The rewards are yours. Time and space do not cover these, but they are part of them.

Your experiences in life come from your desires, your interests, your passions, and, yes, your fears and apprehensions. Choices have results; awakening brings clarity to the results of choice, the opportunities, the rewards. So, awakening is not just the path to a perfect life, our brother, but to one of clarity for your choices. And what is perfection, then, but life’s ability to be anything and everything? So, you see, our brother, awakening is also the path to freedom, which includes relationships and the freedoms of others in service and example, inspiration.

As with any family, we are stronger together than apart, for we grow with each other, benefiting from everyone’s successes and the wisdom that comes from their challenges. So, welcome to awakening the larger life which is within you. Namaste.

Overcoming barriers in consciousness

This is a question from a conversation with an individual, responded to by Janu and the Brotherhood of Light, and presented here to provide a more personal connection to these journeys. The response given is directed to that particular individual, but also seemed of benefit to all seekers. It is presented for research purposes only. For more of this particular conversation, see Healing, past lives, Kuthumi

Q:        I feel as though there’s a barrier between me and the conscious awareness of what you speak of that is within me. And I still feel the need of something to dissolve or remove this barrier. Is there any technique or any method that you can suggest that would help me to get rid of this feeling or to access this knowledge that you say is within me on a conscious level.

JANU: Simple put, dear one, but profound in its nature and the true path towards what you seek. And that is: to acknowledge the barrier and love it with all your heart. Own the barrier, for in truth, dear one, it is of your own making. No part of life, in its truth, denies you access. None. Any denial or barrier is of your own making and for a purpose. Own the reason for it, and the experience of it, and love your way through it by resolving it in this way. This has always been the case and the truth for any seeming obstacle of your desire. Spend time with this, not in frustration, not in struggle, not in forced determination, but in your acceptance of love that barrier is a divine creation of yours. You had reason for this, dear one, as each does. Accept the purpose of it. Command it. And when you no longer have need of it, through the mastery of its wisdom, it will cease to be. This is the direction for mastering any such experience.

Once again we restate: no system of thought or practice can own your own creations. Only you can do this, dear one. It is a natural command of life. You commanded its beginning. By the same authority, as its creator, you command its resolution. This is mastership, dear one. And it is your path.

Navigating life: Choices

JANU: We are encouraging at this time the focus upon navigating life, a fundamental and important subject of exploration. The models employed have everything to do with outcomes, achievement. Study your goals in life. What is important? What do you wish to carry with you from one journey to the next? Challenges and opportunities can be two masks of the same thing. Learn from each model you employ.

Using boxing as an analogy, when life throws you a punch, do you accept it? Do you fight back? Or do you choose to let it pass by? Explore the outcomes of these three and what they produce. Humans as a civilization deal with these: wars of conflict, negotiation, diplomacy, and redirection.

Incarnate life is but a portion of the larger life. What does mastering it look like? For some, it is as a moment. For some, it is an eternity of suffering and struggle. For some, a moment of freedom and peace and personal achievement. And for many more, other venues of life are chosen. We of the Brotherhood of Light choose freedom in the midst of challenges and opportunity. Incarnate life is not the only venue for this.

So weigh the merits of every challenge or opportunity. Choose wisdom, sanity, integrity, and insight to guide you. There is no right or wrong in your choice, only outcome. Always free to choose with the strength to do so. Find peace in your choice and journey on. Namaste.

Ice Age

JANU: This morning’s addition to our knowledge base has to do with the snow events unfolding for the Earth. Another ice age is returning to the polar regions of the Earth. The next few hundred years will see a fairly steady change in world temperatures, brought on by cumulative effects, including the human pollution of the Earth. But this would occur in any case.

In this instance, there will be some low level mountain peaks nearly inundated. It will force major changes in human priorities involving Earth resources for survival. There will be a development of undersea complexes for survival. A major reduction in atmospheric pollution. The Earth will recycle and rejuvenate itself, to begin anew.

Yes, there will be colonies on Mars and other locations, but difficult to support. They will be designed for self-sufficiency.

This ice age will be a few degrees colder than in the past. Many species will not survive. In comparison, the current global warming will be brief. This occurs in advance of an ice age.

Community and national interactions will be affected by surface conditions. There will be attempts to tap into geothermal resources. Food production seriously curtailed but life will continue. New technologies, more efficient use of resources.

You are never alone

JANU: The Truth of Life exists, with everyone, though it doesn’t seem as real as the challenges in life. A challenge seems more real, more present, more immediate, than the solution, than the truth behind it and within it, than your True Nature and its insight. The truth of your nature as power, presence, and wisdom is there before the challenge, during it, and after.

Develop your relationship with your True Nature regularly, whenever it occurs to you. Experience this strength and presence inside you, whether challenged or not. That is the source of your confidence and commitment. All the wisdom you have ever gained is available. Whatever the challenge, know that you can resolve it. Have an open mind and an open heart to this source of your being and let the strength come through. Find peace always in this connection with who you are. Walk through life as one and enrich your life as you do.

Remember, life is full of created forces, realities, whose nature is to support you and manifest your desires, your true needs, your visions for a better life. Walking alone in life is of your own perceptions that are limited. You live in a sea of life, rich and diverse, sharing the intimacy of being. All of life is conscious, in different ways and degrees. Walk your life one with everything. How can you be alone in this way?

The path to true freedom

JANU: We represent, if you will, a path to peace for this one, the nature of which is a construct of the divine within. Everyone’s True Nature has this capability when the desire is there to awaken. Observing human social consciousness, the desire for a better life, fuller understanding, and peace occurs. In time, a small window appears in the consciousness with a glimpse that there is more to life than bumping into challenges without understanding them, as a pinball out of control. In this way, one discovers there is not only more to life, but an unlimited journey of experience, wisdom, service, and joy in living, whether in the body or not.

Allowing, in your consciousness, your larger nature into your awareness begins the process of allowing the rest of your being to awaken your core values of appreciating and being one with the nature of Life itself. Instead of only seeing what you think is wrong with life, you see more and more of how beautifully it works. The veil keeps you from seeing this, but remember, the veil is your creation by choice. The awakening begins to show you why you created it and the path to life beyond it. Desire your freedom and the responsibility that goes with it. Grow in your understanding when the wisdom comes. Your life once again in control, but not just by your human consciousness, but by the rest of who you are and the divine within, your True Nature. Peace, strength, commitment, inspiration, and service, all of this and much, much more, are yours for the allowing and always have been. Recover the freedom to be. Namaste.

Awakening is a continuous process

JANU: Let us begin by holding in the Light of reason the seeming chaos of life, with its simultaneous complications and diverse elements. Embrace what you may, but hold to the ideal: these many elements are foundations for wisdom gaining and securing a conscious place in life. Why not, then, take life as it is, not finding fault with it but mastering its opportunities? The greater the challenge, reach deeper within. The answers already exist. The power already exists. The support has always been there.

Much of life exists even though unseen. But what eyes do you see with? The eyes that can only see what they recognize? Your powers of observation and understanding exist in a larger way. The whole of your being perceives life, including your own nature. Resting on your laurels can be complacency with what you think you know. Yes, there are times for pauses to assimilate what has been gained, make sense of it and apply it to the life. But moving forward, expanding your consciousness, perceiving more of life continues.

Awakening does not mean the end of challenges and opportunities. If anything, they are more profound, all encompassing. The theme here, you see, is engaging more and more of life, not in a fanatical way but in a loving way. Service to life is a constant, always to be enhanced through awakening. Even the concept of mastering the universe, understanding it, is an unlimited goal and must be tempered with the reality of other universes as well, countless in number. Enrich your life and enrich Life. And enjoy life. Namaste.

Two caveats in explorations of life

Reaching beyond your grasp

JANU: We are synthesizing the enormity of life into a simplicity of understanding that precedes the ability to know, understanding that it is not necessary or wise, while incarnate, to know all of life. There is wisdom, however, in being aware of its presence and allowing it to serve you on any point of need. Embracing more and more of life is a journey worth taking, enhancing your life while maintaining its integrity and your own sanity.

Yes, there are times when perspectives are challenged and need to evolve, for an attribute of life is change, allowing renewal, re-creation, and flow. Exploration without a central reference of the integrity of your True Nature brings confusion. Your ability to explore life must be tempered by your capacity for balance and integrity while doing so. Patience allows for this, reaching beyond the grasp does not. Timelessness is indeed a virtue. Namaste.

Time shifting

JANU:    Moving through time is a reality. Progress slowly with this, for movement through time has consequences and, for the unskilled, difficulty returning is one of them. Your current position in time is no more valid than any other time, but there is much more to it than that. Now, there is time shifting in consciousness, but physically is a different set of elements.

Genetic engineering is another arena of manipulating life, not always knowing in advance the ramifications. Another arena that is worthy of examination is your own consciousness, which includes perceptions, interpretations, emotional and mental patterns, that can have many ramifications, not only in this sojourn but in others to come. A thing uncontrolled seems uncontrollable. Time is a fluid part of life, and so are the patterns of your consciousness. Remember, everything is changing, alterable, but care and wisdom and patience are called for. Namaste.

Kindness

JANU: We are elaborating upon the misfortunes of the day, for many people. It is easy to look upon the brutality of some national leaders, drug lords, and even individuals and find dismay about the current human journey. It helps to put this in perspective, realizing that these are temporary aberrations, and focus upon the wonder of human potential. Focus upon this alternative. Give it life and energy. Allow it to be, by your attention and prayers. Do not see the aberrations as permanent or powerful. They are not. They are temporary. We are not against these, but for the wonder of human potential, evidenced by the generosity and love and service given by so many. Your media could contribute to this potential by bringing to the light of the public the good works, shifting people’s focus from mayhem to enlightened service.

Kindness is very powerful when bringing people together for common benefit. No matter how seemingly small or insignificant a kindness, it is a seed that is planted and grows beyond its inception. Kindness is a liberator of the spirit. It includes encouragement, a smile, a compliment, caring, and an embrace, and consideration.

Choose any day with kindness as a theme. Allow yourself to be alert to opportunities. Kindness need not be demonstrative or overt. The purpose is to help others understand and feel positive about themselves. Gently, at times quietly, honestly and naturally, be kind to someone and yourself. Thank you, our brother, and namaste.
